  • Only if required, CPR level HCP (health care provider) is available for (but not limited to) doctors, nurses, paramedics, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists and physiotherapists and/or any students in these fields. It can be upgraded from CPR level C – To obtain level HCP, add 1 hour of training to the end of the course and add $20.00 to the course fee
  • All CPR courses include free certification in AED (Automated External Defibrillation)

 

CPR/AED (Level C or HCP) Re-Certification

also known as Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS)

3 hours, 1 day

$45 student, $55 regular HST included

PLEASE NOTE: CPR/AED (C OR HCP) RE-CERTIFICATION is ONLY permitted if your past CPR (C or HCP) certificate was issued within 3 years. Proof of certification is due on day of course (within 3 years). We accept CPR certifications from all recognized agencies in Canada.

CPR/AED (C) focuses on lifesaving skills on the adult, child and baby. You will learn:

  • Preparing to Respond – Introduction
  • Emergency Medical System (911)
  • Recovery Position (unconscious breathing)
  • CPR for adults, children and babies
  • Automated external defibrillator (AED)
  • Heart attack/Angina & Stroke/TIA
  • Choking (adults, children and babies)
  • Responding as a “team”.

CPR/AED (HCP) for health care providers covers additional advanced skills including:

  • Pulse Check (adult, child, infant)
  • Two-Rescuer Rescue Breathing (Artificial Respiration)
  • Two-Rescuer CPR (adult, child, baby))
  • How to use a BVM (Bag Valve Mask) and pocket mask in a two rescuer team
  • Airway management for blunt force trauma (jaw thrust))
  • AED protocols for witnessed and un-witnessed arrest.

 

Standard First Aid CPR/AED (Level C or HCP) Re-Certification

8 hours, 1 day or 2.5 days

$85 student, $95 regular – HST included

PLEASE NOTE: Standard First Aid CPR/AED (C OR HCP) Re-Certification is ONLY permitted for those who have a previous Standard First Aid CPR (C or HCP) certificate issued within 3 years. Proof of certification is due on day of course (within 3 years) and it MUST be a Canadian Red Cross certificate. Re-Certification is only permitted once for every full certification.

  • Preparing to Respond – Introduction

  • Heart attack/Angina & Stroke/TIA
  • Choking (adults, children and babies)
  • Responding as a “team”
  • Anaphylactic Shock (severe allergy) and Asthma
  • Deadly bleeding – internal and external
  • Amputations – partial and complete / Impaled objects
  • Shock/Fainting
  • Wound Basics (minor cuts, scrapes, punctures, bruises burns)
  • Secondary Survey
  • Head & spinal injuries
  • Muscle, bone & joint injuries
  • Burns (heat, chemical, electrical, sun)
  • Diabetic emergencies
  • Seizures or Convulsions (includes infant/child high fever)
  • Heat Cramps, Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke
  • Hypothermia and frostbite
  • Emergency child birth
  • Poisoning
