First Aid/CPR Courses
Canadian Red Cross Certification Valid for 3 years
All public courses offered at our location complete the highest CPR level , “Level C” (adults, children, babies). Heartsaver CPR "Level A" (adult only), is available upon request with group bookings only (see Group Bookings).
EMERGENCY FIRST AID/CPR
(Level C)
$70 student, $75 regular / 8 hours

This course covers first aid for life threatening emergencies and CPR on adults, children and babies. You will learn:
- How to deal with the Emergency Medical System (911)
- Heart attack & stroke prevention, recognition, and first aid treatment
- Defibrillation (AED) certification included
- How to help an adult, child and infant who is choking
- When and how to provide CPR for adults, children and infants
- Responding with another person as a "team" to an adult or child emergency
- Severe allergic reactions (Anaphylactic Shock)
- Asthma, hyperventilation, panic attacks, chest injuries
- Shock & bleeding (also includes minor cuts, scrapes, bruises, amputations, impaled objects and bleeding nose)
- Fainting
STANDARD FIRST AID/CPR
(Level C or HCP)
$100 student, $105 regular / 16 hours, 2 days
$70 student, $75 regular / Re-certification 8 hours, 1 day

This course covers a wide range of first aid injuries, illnesses and life threatening emergencies including CPR on adults, children and babies. You will learn:
- How to deal with the Emergency Medical System (911)
- Heart attack & stroke prevention, recognition, and first aid treatment
- Defibrillation (AED) certification included
- How to help an adult, child or baby who is choking.
- When and how to provide CPR for adults, children and babies
- Responding with another person as a "team" to an adult or child emergency

- Fainting
- Secondary Survey
- Head & spinal injuries
- Muscle, bone & joint injuries
- Burns (Heat, Chemical, Electrical and Sun)
- Diabetic emergencies
- Seizures (Convulsions)
- Heat Cramps, Heat Exhaustion and Heart Stroke
- Hypothermia and frostbite
- Emergency child birth (optional)
- Poisoning
Please note: Health care providers (HCP) CPR is also available for doctors, nurses, paramedics, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, respiratory therapists (applicable to students in these categories). If obtaining CPR (level HCP) add 1 hour to the course.
